Choose from The Stables - a fabulous 2 bedroom characterful property in the heart of the historic Minster town of Southwell in Nottinghamshire or Cedar Place - a more modern, detached home with its own private garden and 4 bedrooms.  Both properties offer quality self-catering guest accommodation and are an ideal alternative to bed and breakfast or hotels, giving you a fully equipped home from home that's exclusively yours during your stay.  Available to book for a minimum stay of 2 nights or more (longer minimum stays apply to certain peak dates).

The Stables has 2 bedrooms, one en-suite, a separate spacious bathroom and sleeps up to 4 guests.   Its flexible accommodation means you can choose from having a super-king size bed in the main bedroom, or have it set up as a twin room.  The second bedroom can be a single or a cosy twin.  Enjoying a very central, yet tucked away location, the attractions of the historic town of Southwell are quite literally on your doorstep!

Cedar Place has 4 bedrooms, one en-suite, a large bathroom with twin sinks and a separate shower, as well as a large bath - sleeping up to 8 guests, it's the perfect choice for families and larger groups.  Features include a large private driveway, a fully enclosed, South facing garden with an outdoor shelter and 4 spacious bedrooms, each with their own Freeview TV.  It's also the ideal accommodation for contractors to stay whilst working in Southwell, Newark and the surrounding area.

Southwell Minster

Just a couple of minutes walk from The Stables is Southwell's famous cathedral, Southwell Minster.  Well worth a visit.

Southwell Workhouse


Owned by the National Trust who have invested in and improved visitor facilities, the Workhouse offers a unique look into the past and what life was like for the poor people of the area.

Southwell Racecourse 


The racecourse often hosts events such as family fun days and ladies days.  We have details of what's on here in the property for you to look through.

Leisure Activities


Southwell Leisure Centre is about a 10 minute walk from The Stables and offers swimming, gym equipment and a multitude of sporting facilities.

Local Shops and Eateries


Southwell is well know for having a wide range of independent shops and cafes and restaurants where you can find all kinds of unusual treats.

Horse Riding 


Available at the nearby Trent Valley Equestrian Centre who offer support, training and advice for all levels and abilities.

Sherwood Forest


The world famous Sherwood Forest, with its legendary Robin Hood stories, is around a 20 minute drive from Southwell.

Newstead Abbey


Former home to Lord Byron, Newstead Abbey is a romantic and very interesting place to visit, with fabulous gardens and a wonderful house.

Rufford Country Park 


Another wonderful place to visit with its ruined Abbey , cafe and restaurant and lovely lakeside walks, just 20 minutes away by car.

These are just a few ideas of things to do in the area but there is so much more, including Newark with its castle ruins, shopping centre and river cruises, Thoresby Park, home to some wonderful crafts people and lovely walks, Wheelgate and White Post Farm, both perfect for the children and Sherwood Pines - the ideal place for a bike ride.  A little further afield you'll find Clumber Park and Belton House - both owned by the National Trust, Creswell Crags with its prehistoric caves and cave paintings and so much more!
